hey all,
I am the new Ad director for Bay Crossings Magazine.
Which means that I can give us a a few biz card size ads in the mag per month as I figure out the empty spaces each month.
This is called remenant space and I would rather our community get it.

    Hi Scottica. My name is Greg. I am working with a group called, "Your Friendly Neighborhood Anarchists" in putting together a "Really, Really Free Market." The RRFM is based on the same concepts as this tribe is. The only major difference is that it is a once monthly congregation where people can gather and do it all together at once. Sort of like a big community wide garage sale where everything is free. Except that it goes beyond just 'free stuff' and also includes free services, free performances, free sports and games, and more.

    I would like to know if you could put an ad in your magazine for the Really Really Free Market? The first one is April 30th. After that it will be the last Saturday of EVERY month. I'm not sure when your issues go out, or when you need the info by.

    Unfortunately, I'm going to be going out of town this evening for a ten day Vipassana meditation course (which is very much built on gift economy principles as well). By unfortunately, I mean that I won't be able to be in contact with you any time except today, and then not for about 12 days.

    If you can either email me at: frdmisslvry@yahoo.com
    or call me at: 415 999 8126
    I'd really appreciate it.

    Thank a lot Scottica. And welcome to the group.
    Greg

    hi there mr. man

    perhaps you can help out solo suppa hero...he's all about the love, and you can hear it in his voice: read on....
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Hello! This is Cory Richardson, currently in San Francisco. Our
    paths have crossed once or many times through Bioneers, Burning
    Man, The Village Building Convergence, Green Festival, Health
    and Harmony Festival, Rainbow Gathering, Healthy Cities/Smart
    Growth, We The Planet, Craigslist Foundation, UN World
    Environment Day or other conscious common-unity events, and you
    gave me your contact information. I apologize for sending a
    general announcement to you who I know and love, but summer has
    arrived and we have a short time to manifest the vision we have
    the opportunity to see become reality.
    This message is the official launch of the ACTION HERO NETWORK,
    a 501c3 social profit of the International Humanities Center
    dedicated to promoting and connecting action heroes everywhere
    through www.actionheronetwork.net and developing cultural
    exchange community centers.
    The urgency of this message is with regards to an opportunity
    open in San Francisco. Near downtown, just several blocks west
    of Civic Center, are the neighborhoods of Lower Haight and Hayes
    Valley, which have a high percentage of low-income housing and
    the highest crime rate in the city. I’ve lived in this area most
    of the past year and see there is a great need for
    non-commercial gathering spaces and events. It is a
    neighborhood, but there is very little common-unity. There are
    great parks and a community center, but they are not being used
    like they could be—as vibrant catalysts for social
    evolution—fostering a culture of cooperation.
    After a couple months of discussing possibilities with community
    leaders, I am being hired to organize a summer camp project
    using the Hayes Valley Community Center and Koshland Park. Three
    key ladies are in support of this effort: Barbara Wenger, who
    looks after the management of Koshland Park; Judy Edmond, who
    heads the Neighborhood Safety Network based out of the community
    center; and Marla Schmalle at the Mayor’s Office. The plan is
    not just to create a program that will keep children out of
    trouble several days a week. As a community building project, we
    will develop free spaces where people of all ages can play and
    be creative. It is about turning off regularly scheduled
    programming to bring families together to form healthier
    relationships and greater awareness.
    The vision for this summer camp is focused on creating a
    spectacular circus event and making a documentary to record
    everything we do to prepare for it, which will include: dream
    circles, sewing costumes, making music, puppets, dance routines,
    monster pillows, magical lighting, healthy yummy food, learning
    to juggle, use stilts, tightrope walk, hula-hoop, and much more.
    And it will all start with the Question Box Kiosk, nightly camp
    fires, tree house hammocks (www.solomax.com/monkey-spider.html),
    Dragonfly Workshops (www.solomax.com/dflys.html), free family
    portraits, tea parties in the park, and bedtime stories.
    The effect of this project will be greatly amplified by
    documenting everything on digital video for weekly projection
    parties to reflect our brilliance (because we are all stars,
    though some have yet to realize) and show the neighborhood at
    large all the fun we are having. Finally the footage will be
    boiled down for broadcast on the web and PBS to inspire people
    in other communities to implement these simple methods in their
    own schools and centers. Steve Ziefman, an underwriter at PBS,
    Paul Supplee at Total Media Solutions, and several other friends
    in the film industry are lending their support.
    To start filming the progression of this project from the very
    beginning, we need your help raising funds to purchase a digital
    video camera and laptop (my laptop was stolen from my car a
    block from the community center). The goal is to raise $3000 by
    July 12th, and this amount is completely possible considering
    the combined power and commonwealth of our community. Please,
    this project needs your support. Give as little or as much as
    you can afford, even if it is just ten bucks. You will see the
    results of this effort in the very near future.
    This summer camp is a project of the Action Hero Network and
    therefore all contributions are tax deductible. You can give
    simply and safely using a credit card through the International
    Humanities Center web site
    (www.ihcenter.org/groups/ac...ork.html), or by
    sending a check, cash, or money order made payable to:
    IHC/Action Hero Network …and then mailed to:
    International Humanities Center, P.O. Box 923, Malibu, CA 90265
    I am committed to working/playing between Koshland Park and the
    community center, day and night, Monday to Thursday until the
    end of August. Throughout the summer I will be joined by cast of
    talented characters, and I welcome you to join us to share
    whatever you have to offer. Now we must gather in this circle of
    thought to pool our resources and imaginations. Tomorrow I begin
    going door to door around the neighborhood. Please contact me if
    you are interested in taking part in this summer camp in any
    way, which could be simple as donating costume clothing or
    sharing a song and story around the campfire. Please feel free
    to email: solomax@gmail.com or call me: 818-331-9707 … or post
    your contribution/suggestion/comment on the appropriate thread
    at: actionhero.tribe.net
    The focus of this work is to create spaces for sharing resources
    and knowledge with the understanding that we are each others
    teachers, and we are all more powerful when we work together.
    May your days be playful!
    Love fearlessly,
    Cory Richardson
